Public Hearing: PPM23-001 Major Amendment to Approved Final Plan for Gilbert Company “Old Mill Site” Planned Unit Development (PUD), located at 3515 Broad Street
The Planning Commission is scheduled to conduct a public hearing is to consider a major amendment to the approved Final Site Plan, located at 3515 Broad Street. The City Council selected the 3515 Broad Street site as the temporary location for the Dexter Area Fire Department, during the demolition of the existing fire station at 8140 Main and the reconstruction of a new fire station at that same location. The City of Dexter City Council is seeking an amendment to the Gilbert Company “Old Mill Site” PUD to allow a change of use and interior remodel of approximately 3,035 square feet from office and storage to a temporary fire station, which includes overnight accommodations and kitchen/dayroom facilities, for fire personnel; the erection of a temporary detached accessory structure to house a fire engine; and construction of a direct access pathway between the building and the temporary detached structure, until such time as construction of a new fire station at 8140 Main Street is completed.
The Washtenaw County Sheriff will also be temporarily displaced; however, two existing offices within City Hall will be used by Sheriff Deputies. No amendment to the PUD is required for the Sheriff to used existing office space.
